Today (on May 18, 2012), NTT Communications, the leading provider of network services and Content Delivery Network solutions, announced that the parent NTT Communications Corporations and its NTT Plala, NTT PC Communications and NTT America subsidiaries will participate in the World IPv6 Launch on June 6, 2012 to support moving towards IPv6 technologies.
The World IPv6 Launch is expected to be the day on which many of the leading Internet service providers, hosting services and other service operators will permanently enable IPv6 on their global networks. NTT mentioned that it has been a pioneer and an early adopter of the IPv6 by adopting the protocol since 1995 and launching the OCN IPv6 Tunneling Service in 2001. The Company has also been a core member of the various committees that performed studies and experiments about this new technology and also participated state-sanctioned projects like 6NET in the EU.
NTT Communications mentioned that it would be participating as an online service operator and has also launched its IPv6 Launch site www.ntt.com/ipv6_e/data/event.html today.

This Tuesday (on May 15, 2012), Limelight Networks, the leading provider of innovative Content Delivery Network and online streaming solutions, announced the launch of its Industry-specific content publishing workflow solution, the Limelight Orchestrate suite, which also includes various marketing automation and analytics information as well.
The Limelight Orchestrate also makes use of Limelight’s global network along with web content management, cloud storage, Content Delivery Network and other performance and security offerings to provide an end-to-end suite of tools for digital media delivery and management. Apart from this, the Orchestrate solution is extremely modular, thus allowing clients to use and integrate only the needed components if they are not interested in taking the complete package. The solution allows content management both via the web-interface and a feature rich API to allow plugging in the solution to their existing system very quickly.
At its end, Limelight Networks was happy with the launch of the new application and showcased the Orchestrate solution at the Streaming Media East Conference in New York on May 15 and 16.

This Tuesday (on May 15, 2012), EdgeCast Networks, the world’s fastest and most reliable Content Delivery Network service provider, announced that Imgur, one of the leading image hosting and discovery service has leveraged its CDN offerings and improved the performance of its website significantly.
Imgur had seen a lot of traffic since its launch in 2009 and by early 2011; the website was seeing more than a hundred thousand uploads per day. To ensure that the website performance does not suffer due to the huge load and sudden traffic spikes, and also provide a scalable solution for its users, Imgor selected EdgeCast Networks in June 2011. The Imgur website now averages more than 3 million unique visitors per day and a whopping 2 billion page views per month, and by using EdgeCast Networks CDN, the Company has been able to scale-up to almost 12 times the original traffic that it had in 2011.
At its end, EdgeCast Networks mentioned that it was happy to support Imgor’s growth, and the Company not only provided scalability, but its global servers improved the performance as well as ensured continuous uptime of Imgor even during high traffic loads.

This Tuesday (on May 15, 2012), Akamai Technologies, the leading provider of cloud based web optimization services and Content Delivery Network, announced that its Akamai HD Network would be used for providing online video coverage of the 65th Annual Cannes International Film Festival to all the mobile and website viewers, who visit the official Cannes International Film Festival website.
While Akamai has been associated with optimizing web content for Cannes Film Festivals since 2000, last year, Akamai had been selected to deliver the movie trailers and certain on-demand videos for smart phones and tablet devices. Based on its proven success, this year the Akamai HD Network would be leveraged to deliver not only the new films and trailers, but also the red carpet events along with other presentations and interviews to the online audience in a high-performing and scalable fashion.
At its end, Akamai mentioned that it was happy with the deal and was honored to be a part of the Cannes Festival by helping deliver the rich-media content to the online viewers.

This Monday (on May 13, 2012), Amazon Web Services, the leading provider of various IP-based services and Content Delivery Network solutions, announced that their Content Delivery Network offering, Amazon CloudFront, has now been enhanced to provide support for accelerating the delivery of dynamic content.
Amazon mentioned that the recently added capabilities in CloudFront include support for multiple origin servers, thus allowing management of multiple domain names from the same account. The CloudFront has also added support for query strings and different cache behaviors based on patterns of URL, thus allowing more customization and better CDN management. Apart from this, CloudFront also announced that they have implemented various additional optimizations including maintaining persistent connections and network path optimizations for optimizing the dynamic content delivery.
At its end, Amazon mentioned that it was happy to launch support for dynamic content and that the offering would work seamlessly with Amazon EC2 as well as origin servers outside of AWS without the need for any custom coding or configuration requirements.

Yesterday (on May 15, 2012), Limelight Networks, the leading provider of innovative Content Delivery Network services and solutions, announced that it had entered into a strategic alliance with Concentric Cloud solutions, and the latter had added a variety of Limelight Networks’ solutions to its own cloud-based applications offerings.
As part of this deal, Concentric’s new offerings will use Limelight Networks’ solutions, like the Content Acceleration offering, which includes Caching and Streaming capabilities of content delivery will leverage Limelight Deliver. The Application Acceleration for web, mobile and application acceleration will leverage Limelight Accelerate, whereas as Limelight’s Agile Storage will be used for Concentric’s Content Storage. Apart from this, Concentric Cloud will also leverage Limelight Networks’ fast and reliable global computing platform to ensure high performance and reliability of its cloud-based offerings.
Both Limelight Networks and Concentric Cloud were happy with the deal and mentioned that Concentric’s clients would be able to get a variety of new solutions for better delivery and management of their online content by leveraging Limelight’s suite of solutions.

This Monday (on May 14, 2012), Yottaa Inc., one of the leading providers of Content Delivery Network services, announced the launch of its Mobile Acceleration solution, which would allow mobile-savvy Companies to provide faster content delivery to their clients. Apart from this, Yottaa also announced that MocoSpace, the Largest Mobile Social Gaming Platform had also selected its Mobile Acceleration offering.
With a wide range of smart phones coming into market, the website creators are having a hard-time in designing a good website that is portable on the handheld devices and also meeting the otherwise slower mobile network bottlenecks. Yesterday (on May 14, 2012), Level 3 Communications, the leading provider of international fiber-based communication services and Content Delivery Network solutions, announced that it had expanded its network reach and data center capacity across 14 data centers that the Company manages in the Latin America region.
As part of this expansion, Level 3 not only added new hosting, backup and storage services, but also added various security and storage management tools in its Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, Peru and Colombia based data centers. Level 3 mentioned that its Brazil and Chile data centers are certified by SAS 70 Type II, whereas its Argentina data centers have achieved ISO 9001 for housing, firewall and Anti-Virus Anti-Spam (AVAS), Advanced Security Testing (AST). Apart from its hosting, storage, backup and security services, these data centers will also provide its standard virtual hosting services and cloud solutions.
Level 3 mentioned that with Internet services expanding in Latin America the demand of its services have increased and the recent expansion completes Level 3’s first phase of implementing security and processing platforms for supporting Level 3’s virtual and dynamic infrastructure in the Latin America region.

Yesterday (on May 14, 2012), Jet-Stream, the award-winning market leader in Content Delivery Network solutions and services, and Oversi, one of the leading providers of Over-the-Top video and P2P caching solutions, announced that they would collaborate together to create a converged Content Delivery Network offering.

Jet-Stream also mentioned that it was looking for a good OTT provider to expand its offerings, and with its OverCache hierarchical grid topology and unique API to quickly integrate caching with CDN, Oversi was a perfect match. At its end, Oversi mentioned that with its high standards of SLA, and extremely robust CDN offering Jet-Stream was a right choice for them as well.
Both the Companies mentioned that they were happy with the alliance and the joint offering was also presented yesterday at the Content Delivery Summit 2012 in New York City.

This Thursday (on May 10, 2012), Pacnet, the leading communications provider in Asia, which leverages managed CDN from EdgeCast Networks and provides its customers with a unified platform of CDN and hosting services, announced the expansion of its Sydney-based CloudSpace data center, thus allowing the Company to expand further in the region.
The Sydney CloudSpace 1 data center was launched in February last year and had allowed Pacnet to provide and sell its offerings like Pacnet Virtual Private Server (VPS), colocation, storage and better network connectivity to its clients in the region. The latest expansion is expected to add another 700 racks and 3MW power to the high-quality, high-performance and high-efficiency Tier III data center facility, thus helping the Company’s expansion in the fast growing Internet market of Australia.
Pacnet mentioned that the expansion will complement its other 4 data centers in Australia and, since the Company had also added a new Data Center in Hong Kong this year, will allow the Company to improve the reach and network capacity of its 23 data centers in the Asia Pacific region.
