Akamai and Evidon Collaborate for Dynamic Insertion of Privacy Notices
Last Thursday (on October 13, 2011), Akamai Technologies, the leading cloud-based platform provider and global Content Delivery Network provider, announced that it had entered into an exclusive strategic alliance with Evidon, owing to which it will be able to provide Evidon’s privacy and compliance services easily to its customers.
The collaboration will allow Akamai’s customers to seamlessly deploy Evidon’s Inform assurance services on their websites. Apart from this, the partnership will also allow Akamai to provide easy implementation and access of Evidon’s Digital Advertising Alliance program, thus allowing dynamic insertion of privacy notice across websites by tracking code and cookies. The scope of this partnership is for the US and Europe regions, and using Evidon’s privacy and compliance services, Akamai will be able to meet the Industry Self-Regulatory Program in the US and the European ePrivacy Directive for Online Behavioral Advertising.
Akamai mentioned that it was extremely happy with this deal, since its customers would now get a way to address the privacy concerns of the visitors by providing them with the reliable support of Evidon through the CDN itself.
