Akamai Launches Terra Alta for Improving Enterprise Application Delivery

This Tuesday (on March 20, 2012), Akamai Technologies, the global leader in content delivery networks and cloud based optimization solutions, announced the Terra Alta offering, which is aimed at addressing the evolving complexities in the enterprise cloud environment to provide better performance and application acceleration possibilities.

With more and more enterprises turning to cloud solutions, there are issues of latency, security and application control along with proper access that might impact the end user satisfaction. By leveraging the Akamai global network, the Terra Alta solution is aimed at providing 100% global performance improvement SLA to its customers. Among the new features, include the Enterprise Edge, Edge Load Balancing and Enterprise DNS mapping, which can improve network performance. Apart from this, Akamai also includes various web applications like Web Duplication, Akamai Instant and Dynamic Page Caching to provide maximum performance gains to the end user.

Akamai mentioned that its Terra Alta Package, which comes with inherent support for mobile applications and various configuration options, is sold in packages that support 3, 5 and 10 applications.
