Cloud Computing Magazine Awards Internap with Excellence Award

Last Friday (on February 17, 2012), Internap Network Services Corporation, one of the leading providers of intelligent IT infrastructure services, announced that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) had named it as one of the recipient of its 2011 Cloud Computing Excellence award, which was presented by the Cloud Computing Magazine. TMC mentioned that it had selected Internap based on the latter’s deployment at Digital Technology International (DTI), where the Company helped in creating a scalable and reliable cloud solution to support DTI’s business models. Internap not only provided capabilities to easily balance the computing and storage, but its cloud also allows expanding the cloud if new resources are added. Apart from this, the Company’s high performance and stringent SLA to meet 100% uptime, and support for various cloud solutions including VMWare and OpenStack ensured that DTI could get the most out of the cloud. Internap mentioned that it was honored to be named as one of the recipients for this award, which was only given to 30 entries from more than 200, which were nominated for their cloud-based innovations.

Aryaka Makes it to CRN’s 2012 Data Center 100 list

This Monday (on January 23, 2012), Aryaka, one of the most innovative and foremost providers of cloud-based WAN optimization solutions, announced that it had made it to the CRN’s 2012 Data Center 100 list. The list considers various aspects of data centers like carbon footprint, power utilization, services and efficiency and productivity levels to select the best providers. The UBM Channel, which makes this list for its CRN magazine, mentioned that the 2012 Data Center 100 list looked at the innovation and data center services advancements made by the Companies in 2011. ATLANTIC-ACM Honors Level 3 with Carrier Excellence Data Value Award

Last Wednesday (on January 18, 2012), Level 3 Communications, one of the leading providers of networking solutions and Content Delivery Network services, announced that the ATLANTIC -ACM had selected it as one among the two winners of the Carrier Excellence Data Value Award based on its 2012 Global Wholesale Report Card. The Global Wholesale Report Card covers more than 10 thousand global customers and customer feedback and user surveys were done during the October-December timeframe. Various aspects that were considered for computing the scores included International Ethernet and Legacy Dedicated Internet Access, IP WAN solutions and various transport services of both high and low capacity along with network connectivity and reach. It is based on averages of all these scores that Level 3 delivered well and hence was awarded with the excellence award. NTT Communications makes it to Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for AsiaPac

Last Thursday (on January 19, 2012), NTT Communications, one of the leading providers of network solutions and Content Delivery Network services, announced that Gartner Inc. had positioned it as one of the leaders in the “Magic Quadrant” in its latest revision of the Asia Pacific region in its Network Service Providers list. NTT Communications mentioned that it would be launching a low latency network cable in the Asia region with its Submarine-cable Express network. Apart from this, the Company had worked closely with Companies like Emerio; and it has created lot of connections between the various cities of Asia, with additional data centers in Singapore and Malaysia. Level 3 Wins Multiple Ethernet Provider Titles in Caribbean and Latin America

Yesterday (on January 17, 2011), Level 3 Communications, the leading fiber-based communications and CDN services provider, announced that Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) honored it with the “Service Provider of the Year” and “Best Business Ethernet Service” awards for its excellent Ethernet-based services in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region. The MEF mentioned that Level 3 won the “Service Provider of the Year” based on the overall cumulative scores of various categories like business, marketing, network coverage, partnerships and technological prowess. As for the “Best Business Ethernet Service”, it was based on the various innovative services that the network provider provided to its customers in the CALA region. A panel of five global and regional analysts considered the various nominations and then selected Level 3 as the winner for these categories. At its end, Level 3 mentioned that it was extremely happy to win the accolades, and mentioned that these awards were a reflection of Level 3’s efforts in meeting with the growing Ethernet demands of the CALA region.

Internap’s Operational Excellence Earns it SOC2

Internap CDNToday (on January 17, 2012), Internap Network Services Corporation, one of the leading provider of intelligent and scalable infrastructure solutions, announced that it had completed the transition from being certified to a Service Organization Controls (SOC) up from the initial SAS 70 that it had got for its Data Center facilities. This change was done by Internap, owing to the introduction of the SOC reports by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the SOC adds new standards and guidance for the certification. To ensure the new SOC2 Type II Certificate, Internap got its data center security and operational procedures reviewed by an independent certified auditor, and the report confirms that it meets extremely stringent standards for meeting the service and performance needs of its customers. Internap also mentioned that it has become the first data center provider that has received a report under the new SOC2 Type II, and it would continue its efforts to strive and deliver the best services available to its customers.

Microsoft Azure Gets ISO 27001 Certification

This Monday (on December 19, 2011), Microsoft, which provides Operating System and other software solutions including various cloud-based platform and services, announced that the British Standards Institute had provided it with the prestigious ISO 27001 certification for its cloud-based offering the Microsoft Windows Azure. Microsoft mentioned that the ISO Certification covers all the major features of Windows Azure, including the Compute, Storage, Virtual Machines and Virtual Storage modules of the solution. Apart from this, Microsoft also got the Certification for the Management Portal and the information management systems that power Windows Azure. The BSI provided this certification last month (on November 29, 2011) and now Microsoft is also pursuing to get a similar certification for the remaining features of Windows Azure like its Service Bus, Access Control, Caching and Content Delivery Network. The Certification highlights Microsoft’s high drive towards quality and the stability of its Windows Azure offering. In addition, the Company’s Global Foundation Services also managed to get a separate ISO 27001 Certification for the Data Centers, which host the Windows Azure platform.

Level 3 Wins the Award for the Best Latin American Wholesale Offering

Yesterday (on November 30, 2011), Level 3 Communications, one of the leading providers of international fiber-based solutions, announced that it has won the “Best Latin American Wholesale Offering” award from the Capacity magazine for its development and implementation of wholesale strategy of network connectivity and colocation in the Latin America region. TeliaSonera Wins Best Investor Relations Award

Yesterday (on November 23, 2011), TeliaSonera, the leading Sweden-based Content Delivery Network and technology solutions provider, announced that it had been awarded the Best Investor Relations award by the Research firm Regi. The Company also won the Best Company in Large Cap category along with the Best IRO award for 2011. TeliaSonera mentioned that it was honored to win the accolades.
