Pavlov Media Launches Tesseractiv CDN with Campus Crest Communities

This Friday (on May 4, 2012), Pavlov Media, one of the leading private providers of broadband services in the United States, announced that it had partnered with Campus Crest Communities, one of the leading real estate firms for purpose-built student housing, to collaborate for the launch of its Content Delivery Network offering named Tesseractiv.

As part of the deal, Pavlov Media will leverage its Tesseractiv CDN service and deliver the most popular content on the Internet to Campus Crest’s student housing community in Waco, Texas to start off with. The service is aimed at providing speeds up to as much as 100 Mbps, thus providing the college students with extremely fast and reliable Internet connectivity. Campus Crest mentioned that it is now aiming at deploying the Tesseractiv in all its strategic markets around the United States.

At its end, Pavlov Media mentioned that the Company had spent many years of research to create a solution that would optimize bandwidth and performance for its users, and the Company was happy with the roll out of Tesseractiv in Texas.

NetDNA Formally Announces Launch of its CloudCache Offering

This Monday (on April 30, 2012), NetDNA, one of the leading pioneers in the Content Delivery Network domain, announced the launch of its latest Content Delivery Network offering, CloudCache, which will provide customers with an extremely easy-to-integrate and deploy CDN offering for improving their website performance and file downloads.

CloudCache.com comes with a wide set of integrations with various popular CMS including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento and SocialEngine among others. Apart from this, Prestashop, one of the leading e-commerce web storefront platforms has also added one-click CloudCache.com integration to its latest version. The service makes use of 10 Gbps network connectivity with its various PoP locations around the globe and will also allow customers to have real-time SSL security using GlobalSign owing to its recent collaboration and EdgeSSL offering.

OpenCDN from EdgeCast Networks Gets Productized

Yesterday (on May 2, 2012), EdgeCast Networks, the world’s fastest and most reliable Content Delivery Network services provider, announced that its OpenCDN Federation platform, which is the Company’s suite of managed CDN offering is now out-of-Beta and is servicing production traffic between independent CDN operators around the globe.

The OpenCDN Federation from EdgeCast Networks, allows the network operators to provide PoP services and caching services, without having the need to install infrastructure in all the places by leveraging and trading bandwidth and storage with other providers. EdgeCast Networks has also patented a significant part of the CDN interconnection intellectual property and had announced the Licensed CDN program early this year. Moreover, OpenCDN is aimed at allowing the network operators to create and sell their CDN offerings without the need to create software, by leveraging the proven and stable technology from EdgeCast Networks.

At its end, EdgeCast Networks mentioned that it was happy with OpenCDN and CDN Federation, and as of now the providers include a large, tier-1 provider in North America and Pacnet in Asia among other participants.

Turbobytes Launches meta-CDN Service

This Thursday (on April 26, 2012), Turbobytes, one of the upcoming technical startups in the Content Delivery Network industry, announced the launch of its multi-platform meta-CDN service, which allows customers to leverage services of four different CDN networks as of now, in real-time to optimize delivery of content and costs.

Basically, what Turbobytes does is that it creates an engine by addition of a non-blocking JavaScript code and the engine will analyze data in real-time and make decision about which of the CDNs to use for providing best performance results. Turbobytes makes use of Dyn for DNS and optimization and reconfigures the DNS settings based on region, country and even state-levels to provide maximum performance. The offering also provides a dashboard, which shows the performance of different CDNs in different regions in real-time, thus allowing the system to make intelligent switching decisions.

Turbobytes mentioned that since it allows customers to use different CDNs without needing to make major changes in their system or create accounts with different CDN providers, its Multi-CDN offering is expected to provide great results. As of now, the Company leverages EdgeCast Networks, Level 3 Communications, Internap and NetDNA, and the Company will be adding more CDN providers to its list later.

GlobalSign Collaborates with NetDNA to Provide Web Security using EdgeSSL

Yesterday (on April 24, 2012), NetDNA, one of the leading providers of Content Delivery Network services and GlobalSign, a leading solutions provider for online security, announced that they have collaborated together to launch EdgeSSL, which is a one-stop secure sockets layer (SSL) certificate solution for NetDNA’s CDN customers.

With a lot of websites and portal owners looking for a secure as well as a high performance solution, the EdgeSSL provides them with a 256-bit encryption security and a web-based certificate security offering, which leveraging NetDNA’s global network for high performance. The EdgeSSL also leverages a tight integration and automation capabilities of GlobalSign’s OneClickSSL to provide customers with a simple and stream-lined process that includes everything from buying to deploying a GlobalSign web-security certificate in real-time. Moreover, since the EdgeSSL stacks are on NetDNA’s network, they also reduce the computation load on client’s origin server and networks.

GlobalSign also made NetDNA a GlobalSign Partner and both NetDNA and GlobalSign were happy with the launch of EdgeSSL. GlobalSign also mentioned that it was delighted to have NetDNA on-board and providing trusted SSL certificates with OneClickSSL to NetDNA’s customers.

Limelight Networks Unveils Reach Live for Live Streaming to Mobile Devices

Last Tuesday (on April 17, 2012), Limelight Networks, the leading provider of web optimization and streaming solutions suite and services, announced the unveiling of its new offering Limelight Reach Live, which helps broadcasters in streaming live video to various mobile phones and tablet devices using a single feed source. Motorola Leverages EdgeCast to Deliver SecureMedia

This Tuesday (on April 17, 2012), Motorola Mobility, the content supporting solutions provider of Motorola, showcased SecureMedia Encryptonite ONE HLS+ offering, which its award-winning multi-device, multi-screen content delivery solution, at the NAB 2012. The solution allows users to deliver secure content to their customers both on and off the service provider’s network.

Motorola Mobility mentioned that the SecureMedia solutions provides all the benefits of a Content Delivery Network, while also allowing live and on-demand streaming of content through HTTP in a secure fashion. Last month, the Company mentioned joining hands with EdgeCast Networks, the world’s fastest and most reliable CDN provider, and the SecureMedia Encryptonite ONE HLS+ leverages the managed CDN solution of the same to get high performance and unmatched scalability for delivering content on different screens.

EdgeCast Networks mentioned that it was happy with the deal, and mentioned that apart from providing the advanced streaming capabilities, the joint solution also provides advanced network provisioning, monitoring and management solutions for meeting their streaming needs.

Wowza Adds Support for Windows Azure Media Services

wowzaThis Monday (on April 16, 2012), Wowza Media Systems, the world’s leading provider of “Any Screen Done Right” media server software solutions, announced that its Wowza Media Server 3 will provide them with an option of delivering audio and video content in the recently launched Windows Azure Media Services. As part of this inaugural support, Wowza Media Server will support on-demand streaming to Windows Azure Media services, and this integration will allow customers to get all the encoding, transcoding and multi-platform, multi-protocol content generation of Wowza and couple it with the scalability and reliability of the Windows Azure, thus allowing them to get a wider and more cost-effective reach to their audiences. The Wowza Media Server will provide pre-built, pre-configured and ready to use services for integrating Windows Azure as part of its media workflow, thus making the deployment extremely stream-lined and easy for the customers. Both Wowza and Microsoft were happy with the development and Wowza mentioned that it would do a public preview of Wowza Media Server 3 on Windows Azure later this year.

Wowza to Showcase Media Server 3.1 at 2012 NAB Show

wowzaLast Thursday (on April 12, 2012), Wowza Media Systems, the “Any Screen Done Right” media server software provider, announced that it would be showcasing the enhancements of Wowza Media Server 3.1, including the Network DVR (nDVR) AddOn, Dynamic Transcoder and the audio-only option for Wowza Transcoder AddOn at the 2012 NAB Show. With the launch of the 3.1 version, the Wowza nDVR AddOn will become productized and allow the customers to deliver live linear streams as time-shifted services on multiple screens. For the users wanting to use Wowza only for audio stream deliver, the cheaper option of Wowza Transcoder AddOn’s audio-only option can be used. Apart from this, Wowza added the New Dyanmic Transcoder Overlays AddOn, which will allow customers to add text, content, images and rich media on existing streams dynamically, thus allowing better monetization opportunities. At its end, Wowza mentioned that the Wowza Media Server 3.1 is the Company’s latest production version of the industry-proven Wowza Media Server solutions, and that it was excited to showcase the new features to its existing and prospective customers at the 2012 NAB Show.

EdgeCast Networks Helps Dell in Creating CDN Offerings

Last Wednesday (on April 11, 2012), Dell Inc., the leading provider of innovative solutions for Information Technology domain, announced the launch of Dell Deliver, a Content Delivery Network solution that is powered by hardware from Dell, video processing software from Elemental and CDN software from EdgeCast Networks, the world’s fastest and most reliable CDN provider.

Dell mentioned that the Dell Deliver software would be its first Content Delivery Platform, which would allow network providers to sell CDN services to their customers. Apart from this, leveraging the video management and streaming technologies of Elemental, the Dell Deliver will make use of massively parallel NVIDIA Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and deliver high quality multimedia content over Dell’s infrastructure network. Using the latest Intel processors and Dell’s native hardware, the Dell Deliver is expected to deliver better results, as well as there is less space and lesser power requirements from the hardware.

At its end, Dell was happy for the launch of its CDN providing services and mentioned that the CDN would be deployed using 12th generation servers of its Dell PowerEdge series.
