This Wednesday (on June 6, 2012), EdgeCast Networks
, the world’s fastest and most reliable Content Delivery Network services provider, announced
that it had added IPv6 compliance, a new, no-cost features that would ensure that its customers’ content will have IPv6 compatibility for their websites without making any changes to their hosting infrastructure.
Actually, June 6 was celebrated as the World IPv6 Day, and since the North American IPv4 addresses are expected to exhaust by 2014, the move for websites and Internet services towards IPv6 is becoming critical. The IPv6 compliance of EdgeCast Networks does just that, by allowing the customers and e-commerce websites to have IPv6 compatibility without making any hardware or architecture changes, thus allowing immediate deployment at no additional costs.
EdgeCast Networks mentioned that its IPv6 Compliance is provided to customers as an opt-in features, and customers who activate the same will be able to receive content from EdgeCast Networks’ CDN through IPv6 for free.
