GoGrid, one of the leading cloud infrastructure and hosting solutions providers,
announced that it has added the GoGrid Server image with the IBM DB2 software as part of its large list of independent software vendors (ISVs) support, thus allowing its customers to their database content in GoGrid cloud using DB2.
GoGrid mentioned that it has entered in an application specific licensing agreement with IBM to provide the DB2 services to its customers, and the benefit of this approach is that the customers would be able to access the DB2 right on their virtual machines. Apart from this, since the DB2 was added as an ISV, the DB2 server can be brought up in a matter of few minutes. Moreover, the GoGrid unified billing system would automatically add the required charges and license usage information to the hosting bill and making it easy for customer to manage payments.
At its end, GoGrid mentioned that it was happy to provide the new integration with IBM DB2 and more details on how IBM DB2 Server Image can be leveraged are documented at http://go.gogrid.com/IBM-ISV.
