
This Tuesday (on March 27, 2012),
Level 3 Communications, the leading international provider of fiber based communication services,
announced that with the help of its locally licensed affiliate in Mexico, it had renewed its agreement with Grupo Elektra, one of the fastest growing financial and specialty retail service providers in the Latin America region.
As part of the deal, Level 3 will connect Grupo Elektra’s headquarters in Mexico with its Banco Azteca branches in Argentina, Brazil, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Peru, thus improving the interconnectivity within the Company. Apart from voice and data services, Grupo Elektra will also leverage a wide variety of Internet Protocol (IP) communications services like Direct Internet Access as well as other security solutions, thus improving the performance, reliability and overall security of Grupo Elektra’s communications.
At its end, Level 3 Communications mentioned that it was happy with the deal and this renewal showed that Level 3’s efforts in providing top-notch services in the Latin America region had paid off well.
