Highwinds Unveils Game Delivery Network
This Monday (on August 15, 2011), Highwinds, one of the leading providers of content delivery and cloud-based IP services, announced the launch of Highwinds Game Delivery Network (GDN), the first ever CDN offering that is tuned to deliver better gaming performance by optimizing the content delivery requirements and aspects that are more important for the online game publishers.
For the GDN, Highwinds will not only leverage its global position as a CDN providers, but also it includes a gaming software stack, that will improve faster downloads, reduce delivery costs and provide various analytics to the online game providers. Apart from this, Highwinds has also partnered with Solid State Networks to optimize the GDN and put Industry veteran Ed DiEoreo as the Sales executive for this GDN initiative.
Highwinds mentioned that its solution is already helping in delivery of popular games like Nordeus’ Top Eleven and League of Legends Championship and the CDN provider will be presenting its GDN solution at both the Game Developers Conference, Europe and gamescom over the next few days.
