Last Tuesday (on February 7, 2012), CDNetworks
, the only multinational Content Delivery Network provider that has local infrastructure in six continents including mainland China, announced
that it has entered in a strategic alliance with Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited (HKBN) to improve the web experience for Hong Kong’s growing online audience.
As part of the deal, CDNetworks will optimize the international transit links of HKBN by leveraging its global network, and improve the application performance and web content delivery by fetching the content and bringing it near the visitor. With its advanced caching solutions, CDNetworks will also reduce the CDN traffic for the service providers by as much as 95 percent. Apart from this, since CDNetworks already has a strong presence in the APAC region, it was the logical choice for HKBN, Hong Kong’s fastest growing broadband service provider.
Both CDNetworks and HKBN were happy with the deal, which will allow better Internet services and faster content delivery to Hong Kong-based traffic.
