Today (on November 10, 2010), the global leader in scale-out storage solutions, Isilon announced that
Internap Network Services Corporation, one of the leading Content Delivery Network and other Internet products and services providers, has started using its NL-Series and OneFS operating system to consolidate and improve scalability of its CDN storage.
Earlier, Internap had been using the traditional SAN system with a third-party file system. However, this method was highly painstaking and very difficult to manage. With their growing needs, Internap needed a solution, which was more manageable and scalable and that is where Isilon stepped in, their solution consolidated the entire CDN storage space into single shared object resources and hence not only made CDN storage more scalable, but also simplified management, thus improving the operational efficiency.
As of now, Internap has worked with DST Data Products, one of Isilon’s channel partners and deployed a large number of Isilon 72NL clusters around the globe to support the storage needs of its Content Delivery Network.
