
This Tuesday (on April 24, 2012),
Level 3 Communications, the leading provider of fiber-based communication services and Content Delivery Network solutions,
announced that The Golf WareHouse, which is the world’s largest golf retailer, had selected Level 3’s Total Site Performance offering to speed its website TWG.com.
By leveraging the frontend optimization options provided by the Total Site Performance tool that improves the performance by optimizing content as per the requester’s browser. Apart from optimizing the content, the Total Site Performance tool also dynamically changes the pages and delivers them faster to the audience. While the original page took a massive 10 seconds to load, with this deployment, it was cut to almost 5 seconds, and when TGW added new servers and improved the load time to 5 seconds, Level 3’s solutions improved it further and brought it down to around 2.5 seconds, thus improving it by almost 50%.
At its end, Level 3 mentioned that it was happy with the deal, and also stated that the improved load times and scalability would allow TGW to provide better customer experience and increased customer satisfaction, thus bringing them more sales.
