Today (on June 4, 2012),
Limelight Networks, the leading provider of Content Delivery Network and online media streaming solutions,
announced that as the world celebrates World IPv6 Day on June 6, the Company will be working towards providing automatic support for IPv6 to its new and existing customers as part of its content delivery service.
With more and more Companies moving towards the new IPv6 protocol, some of the businesses, which use the IPv4 are still at risk since the IPv4 Internet will fade away, and that is where Limelight Networks’ helping the customers in transitioning over this technical change is helpful. The IPv6 capabilities of Limelight Networks include both a dual-stack (IPv4/IPv6) support as well as a native IPv6 routing support. Limelight will also provide IPv6 based DNS and peering to allow complete IPv6 based network connects.
At its end, Limelight Networks mentioned that it has introduced support for IPv6 for its customers since 2009, and the IPv6 support is automatically enabled to all its customers for free.
