Limelight Networks Reports Increasing Trend of Buying through Mobile Devices

Today (on November 29, 2011), Limelight Networks, the leading provider of Content Delivery Networks and other smart IP-based services, announced that there was almost a 20-25% increase in customers buying items online using their tablet devices or smart phones as compared to last year, thus showing the trends of how users have changed their conventional approach of online shipping. The report provides an in-depth analysis of various trends, and percentages of how many percent users use which type of device and the operating system that drives the device. Apart from this, the shopping behavior and survey from Limelight Networks also suggests that more customers will continue to go mobile and thus having e-commerce websites, which are extremely optimized and mobile-device friendly can help in driving up sales. Limelight Networks mentioned that looking at various mobile content delivery solutions may also help since almost 500 out of the 520-odd respondents who completed the survey that they owned a smart phone and 140-odd owned a tablet device.
