Mirror Image Internet Doubles Its Mobile Video Streaming Market Hold in 2010
This Wednesday (on July 21, 2010), one of the leading Content Delivery Solution providers, Mirror Image Internet, announced that its media streaming traffic, specifically for mobiles and smart phones has increased by 100 percent since the beginning of 2010, and that Mirror Image Internet manages almost 70 percent of the global mobile video streaming traffic on its network.
For making this huge growth possible, the Company had invested an additional 3 million dollars towards hardware and bandwidth solutions to ensure that their backbone meets the needs of the space and network capabilities required to provide high performance while streaming HD content. From the software point of view, the Mirror Image Internet upgraded to Wowza 2, and the company is also enhanced its Multi-Protocol Streaming Service to support HTML5.
This makes the MPSS from Mirror Image Internet to have support for all Silverlight, Adobe Flash, H.264 and MPEG-TS formats of video and the start of support for HTML5 is expected to provide all the capacity to the company to meet the complex and diverse requirements of the content providers for mobile content.
The Mirror Image Internet’s management beamed with optimism for how their content strategies are delivering and mentioned that the Company will keep enhancing its products in terms of both performance and support for newer technologies.
