Recently, Octoshape and AT & T worked together to create a new mode of streaming that can allow “instant-on” high quality content streaming using the existing public networks for MultiCast streaming. This was done for the recent Major League Gaming event and the video was streamed to viewers in over 100 countries, showing the scalability of the solution.
Apart from this, Octoshape’s solution innovates the way in which the content is handled and hence does not need to have the traditional network and server related constraints that the normal Content Delivery Network providers are facing. Apart from this, with the help of features like adaptive bit rate, resilient throughput optimization, support for digital video recording and dynamic channel changing make the Multicast package of Octoshape much more powerful.
Supporting multicast on the existing networks has been a very challenging field and Octoshape’s having a solution, which works well in such a condition will allow their clients to provide HD quality video content with much lesser infrastructure and bandwidth, and can be a real differentiator among the various content delivery solutions.
