Last Wednesday (on May 23, 2012), Alcatel-Lucent, the leading innovator in networking and communications technology solutions,
announced that Orcon, the fastest growing ISP in New Zealand, had selected its AppGlide Online Video Analytics solution to get an insight on how the streamed video from its Content Delivery Network was performing.
In general, it is quite difficult to get an insight on how the CDN streamed video content is performing and with its broad range of video data sources, video player plug-ins, Content Delivery Network assets and quality-of-experience assets, the AppGlide solution provides a holistic view about performance and additional analytics of the streamed content. Apart from AppGlide, Orcon will also leverage Alcatel-Lucent’s
Velocix Content Delivery Network solutions to deliver online video content to its CDN customers in a fast and secure fashion.
At its end, Alcatel-Lucent mentioned that it was happy to help Orcon get better insight into how the latter’s video content was performing, thus allowing Orcon to provide better quality-of-service to its end-customers, while also reducing the network costs associated with the streaming of content.
