Last Thursday (on June 7, 2012), Pacnet, the Asia-based leading communications provider with an implemented Content Delivery Network based on EdgeCast Networks’ managed CDN offering, announced that its Virtual Private Server (VPS) and other cloud-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service offerings will now be made available to its Thailand-based customers.
The Pacnet VPS is powered by the Company’s server in Bangkok and leverages the Internet Services of Pacnet to provide extremely fast data transfers between the virtual servers and the end-users to ensure high customer satisfaction. The service comes in various packages from small to large and even extra-large to suit the needs of different customers, and the Company offers virtualized servers for both Microsoft Windows as well as Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms. The service comes with option to lease extra computational power or space and the service comes with a monthly charges and contractual commit of 1 to 3 years.
Pacnet mentioned that businesses in Thailand could leverage the Pacnet VPS to offload their content on the cloud. The company also mentioned that its VPS is also available in Australia, and that it was working on expanding the service to make it available in various other locations soon.
