This Thursday (on May 10, 2012), Pacnet, the leading communications provider in Asia, which leverages managed CDN from EdgeCast Networks and provides its customers with a unified platform of CDN and hosting services, announced the expansion of its Sydney-based CloudSpace data center, thus allowing the Company to expand further in the region.
The Sydney CloudSpace 1 data center was launched in February last year and had allowed Pacnet to provide and sell its offerings like Pacnet Virtual Private Server (VPS), colocation, storage and better network connectivity to its clients in the region. The latest expansion is expected to add another 700 racks and 3MW power to the high-quality, high-performance and high-efficiency Tier III data center facility, thus helping the Company’s expansion in the fast growing Internet market of Australia.
Pacnet mentioned that the expansion will complement its other 4 data centers in Australia and, since the Company had also added a new Data Center in Hong Kong this year, will allow the Company to improve the reach and network capacity of its 23 data centers in the Asia Pacific region.
