
This Tuesday (on September 20, 2011),
SoftLayer Technologies, the innovation leader in Cloud, Dedicated and Managed Hosting services,
announced that it would be opening up its new Singapore Data Center. The new Data Center and its network Points-of-Presence in Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong are expected to “go live” on October 3, 2011.
The new Data Center has a capacity of 16000+ servers and is equipped with redundant network infrastructure. Apart from having direct connectivity with SoftLayer’s San Jose and Los Angeles facilities, the Data Center and the PoPs are also connected with various Tier-1 network carriers including NTT, Tata Communications and Equinix. SoftLayer also mentioned that it is also planning to open its Amsterdam Data Center and European PoPs soon, which would provide SoftLayer with a global network of 13 Data Centers and 16 PoP locations.
SoftLayer mentioned that it was extremely happy with the progress of its Singapore Data Center and that their customers will be able to pre-order services from the Asian facilities from today, i.e. September 23, 2011.
