HKBN Collaborates with CDNetworks for Improving Web Content Performance

Last Tuesday (on February 7, 2012), CDNetworks, the only multinational Content Delivery Network provider that has local infrastructure in six continents including mainland China, announced that it has entered in a strategic alliance with Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited (HKBN) to improve the web experience for Hong Kong’s growing online audience. As part of the deal, CDNetworks will optimize the international transit links of HKBN by leveraging its global network, and improve the application performance and web content delivery by fetching the content and bringing it near the visitor. With its advanced caching solutions, CDNetworks will also reduce the CDN traffic for the service providers by as much as 95 percent. Apart from this, since CDNetworks already has a strong presence in the APAC region, it was the logical choice for HKBN, Hong Kong’s fastest growing broadband service provider. Both CDNetworks and HKBN were happy with the deal, which will allow better Internet services and faster content delivery to Hong Kong-based traffic.

Burson-Marstellar and CDNetworks Present Webinar on Establishing China Operations

Jimdo Leverages CDNetworks to Speed-Up its Services in Asia Pacific

Today (on October 19, 2011), CDNetworks, the only multinational Content Delivery Networks provider that has local expertise and infrastructure in six continents, as well as special China support, announced that it was helping the easy-to-use website builder Jimdo, for providing high performance and reliability to their China and Japan based customers. While Jimdo is based in Germany, it saw massive growth in China and hence came up with a Chinese version, which got more than 500 tests in first 3.5 hours of beta testing. The huge prospect of demand and the possible need to manage traffic peaks and spikes made Jimdo look out for a CDN partner, and that is when with its network reach in China and Asia and the specialized China Acceleration offering, CDNetworks seemed a logical choice to cater to the growing demand of Jimdo in China and Japan regions. Megafon Leverages CDNetworks’ Solutions to Launch CDN

Yesterday (on October 3, 2011), Megafon, the leading provider of mobile services in Russia, announced that it would be launching its own Content Delivery Network services to provide faster and more reliable network connectivity for meeting the demands of its increasing user-base. For starters, the telecom operator would be adding nodes in various cities across Russia. Megafon mentioned that the main focus for launching this CDN project was to have enough network capabilities to support the 2014 Winter Olympics Event, which will be held in Sochi. There is expected to be a huge surge in demand at that time and the presence of the CDN will not only speedup content delivery, but also ensure that servers are not clogged. CDNetworks, the leading Content Delivery Network provider helped Megafon by providing the services and other software support for launching its CDN support. For now, Megafon has added access nodes in various parts of Russia including Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Krasnodar, Samara, Rostov, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Yekaterinburg and Khabarovsk, and the Company will be adding more nodes in St. Petersburg and Kazan later this year.

Chris Wong Appointed New VP, Sales for CDNetworks

Yesterday (on September 28, 2011), CDNetworks, the only multinational Content Delivery Network that has local expertise in all six continents and has presence in China, announced that it would be appointing Chris Wong as the Vice President of Sales for the Americas and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) regions. With more than 20 years of CDN and web performance experience, Chris Wong had previously worked with various CDN Companies like Limelight Networks, Cotendo, UltraDNS and Pather Express in strategic management roles. Samuel Ko, the founder of CDNetworks also mentioned that since the Americas and EMEA is currently seeing massive growth in terms of Internet penetration and CDN, they needed someone to effectively drive sales and expansion in these regions and that is where Chris would be targeting in his new roles. At his end, Chris Wong mentioned that he was extremely happy to be selected as the VP for Sales, Americas and EMEA and that he was looking forward to work closely with CDNetworks’ customers in those regions.

CDNetworks Joins the OpenDNS Initiative

Last Tuesday (on August 30, 2011), CDNetworks, the only multinational Content Delivery Network provider with local expertise in all six continents along with China, announced that it had joined hands with the OpenDNS initiative to speed up the Internet. This initiative is aimed at improving the performance of the websites by reducing the time taken for DNS lookup. The OpenDNS initiative includes various players including fellow CDN provider EdgeCast Networks and Google in a joint bid to improve performance. To reduce the lookup time, the new method will be sending some part of the IP address of the visitor as a part of the lookup initial DNS request to get better and more accurate information about the user’s physical location. This information can then be used to provide a faster DNS lookup, thus improving the overall website performance. OpenDNS management was happy to see CDNetworks join the initiative since it would help improve lookup time for millions of Internet users. CDNetworks mentioned that it aimed at providing best performance for its 1200+ customers around the globe.

CDNetworks Expands in the Middle East

This Tuesday (on August 16, 2011), CDNetworks, the only multinational Content Delivery Network provider with PoP in six continents, along with presence in China, announced its expansion in the Middle East Asia. As part of this expansion, CDNetworks has added its Points-of-Presence in Iraq, Israel and Saudi Arabia to help the local businesses in the regions. CDNetworks mentioned that while the local businesses wanted to have faster performance, the lack of proper peering solution providers, local expertise and government support had made it difficult for the Companies to improve performance for their Middle-Eastern traffic. This Tuesday (on July 12, 2011), CDNetworks, the only multinational with local presence in six continents, including China, announced that its Web Performance Suite and Network have been certified as PCI Compliant. This compliance goes to show the Company’s commitment towards ensuring that its customers can use the solutions to improve the performance of their dynamic content and shopping cart applications without fearing security issues with credit card information. As part of its implementation, the Web Performance Suite is certified to the most recent version of PCI Security standard, i.e. DSS version 1.2, which was developed by American Express, Visa, MasterCard, JCB and Discover, some of the biggest names in online money transfer and PCI Security Standards Council. CDNetworks Unveils Dynamic Network Acceleration Solution

This is an on-demand service that accelerates the different browser and non-browser based enterprise applications that are transmitted over SSL-VPN.
