Cloud Computing Magazine Awards Internap with Excellence Award

Last Friday (on February 17, 2012), Internap Network Services Corporation, one of the leading providers of intelligent IT infrastructure services, announced that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) had named it as one of the recipient of its 2011 Cloud Computing Excellence award, which was presented by the Cloud Computing Magazine. TMC mentioned that it had selected Internap based on the latter’s deployment at Digital Technology International (DTI), where the Company helped in creating a scalable and reliable cloud solution to support DTI’s business models. Internap not only provided capabilities to easily balance the computing and storage, but its cloud also allows expanding the cloud if new resources are added. Apart from this, the Company’s high performance and stringent SLA to meet 100% uptime, and support for various cloud solutions including VMWare and OpenStack ensured that DTI could get the most out of the cloud. Internap mentioned that it was honored to be named as one of the recipients for this award, which was only given to 30 entries from more than 200, which were nominated for their cloud-based innovations.

Izoox Selects GoGrid’s Cloud Infrastructure

Last Tuesday (on January 31, 2012), GoGrid, one of the leading providers of cloud infrastructure services and solutions, announced that web design and hosting provider Izoox is leveraging its cloud services to reduce its operational costs and get scalability to expand without getting in the complexity of maintaining complex infrastructure. Condé Nast Digital Germany Leverages Services of GoGrid’s Cloud

Today (on January 30, 2012), GoGrid, one of the leading providers of managed and cloud-based hosting solutions and content optimization services, announced that Condé Nast Digital Germany, one of the leading German magazines publishers, is leveraging the GoGrid hybrid architecture for providing high-speed and reliable browsing experience to its website audience. Actually, first Condé Nast Digital Germany, just moved one of its publications, Glamour, to the hybrid architecture of GoGrid, and then impressed by the performance and the amount of data security provided by GoGrid, the publisher moved its other top titles including GQ and Vogue to GoGrid as well. GigaSpaces Unveils Multi-site Data Replication Solution

Last Thursday (on January 26, 2012), GigaSpaces Technologies, one of the leading pioneers of next-generation application platforms, announced the launch of its new Multi-Site Data Replication offering, which allow customers to leverage GigaSpaces market-leading in-memory data grid (IMDG) and scaling technology to replicate their data over WAN. The solution supports mirroring of data to GigaSpaces data grid using various API calls, configuration of replication gateways, and then the deployment of these gateways across the sites for maintaining data consistency. ChinaCache CDN to Help Support Xiaomi Mobile Pre-Sales

This Friday (on January 13, 2012), ChinaCache, the largest Content Delivery Network provider based in China, announced that it was selected to help support the online rush during the third round of pre-sales for the Xiaomi smart phones, which have been launched by Xiaomi Technology Company, one of the leading providers of smart phones in China. Xiaomi mentioned that it was expecting a huge surge in traffic on the day it would open the pre-sales and needed a good and reliable CDN to manage that spike and also support security of the online payments and that is where with its advanced global CDN services, managed IDC resources and cloud computing solutions, ChinaCache helped them. The Company mentioned that using the global network of ChinaCache, Xiaomi was able to support the order of more than 500 thousand smart phones that came in on the pre-launch day. Technicolor Unveils M-GO Cloud Storage Solution

This Thursday (on January 12, 2012), Technicolor, one of the leading providers of various technology and animation solutions, announced the launch of M-GO, a free application that allows the users to leverage cloud for storage and share media from participating content partners, by allowing them to access the content from various devices. While the M-GO was initially announced by MediaNavi at the CES 2011, the M-GO application from Technicolor is expected to have all the similar features along with a better and more user-friendly GUI. The solution is expected to be bundled with all the latest Intel Ultrabooks through the Intel AppUp Center and also all the new Smart TVs and Blu-Ray disc players that will be launched by Samsung and Vizio in 2012. Technicolor is looking at a transactional business model for this offering and will also provide support for Ultraviolet. Technicolor mentioned that it is currently working with films and videos for M-GO and it would also add support for music in the near future, and while the participating studios are still not announced, the names and new additions are expected to be announced shortly.

Steadfast Networks works with OnApp Unveils Cloud Management App for iOS

Last Wednesday (on December 28, 2011), Steadfast Networks, one of the leading providers of dedicated server hosting, cloud solutions and colocation services, announced that it had worked closely with hosting solutions provider OnApp to create its Cloud Controller offering that allows users to manage their clouds from Apple devices including iPhone, iPAD and iPod Touch. Shanxi Unicom and Wentian Technology Leverage ChinaCache for Building Data Center

Yesterday (on December 22, 2011), ChinaCache, the leading provider of Content Delivery Network services in mainland China, announced that Shanxi Unicom, the Shanxi Branch of China Unicom and Wentian Technology, the first online game Company in Shanxi province of China, have made an agreement with the former to help them in making Shanxi’s largest cloud computing data center. At its end, Chinacache mentioned that it was happy to be a part of the collaboration and stated that the Data Center will help in improving the network reach and emergence of new Internet-based Companies in the Shanxi region.

Microsoft Azure Gets ISO 27001 Certification

This Monday (on December 19, 2011), Microsoft, which provides Operating System and other software solutions including various cloud-based platform and services, announced that the British Standards Institute had provided it with the prestigious ISO 27001 certification for its cloud-based offering the Microsoft Windows Azure. Microsoft mentioned that the ISO Certification covers all the major features of Windows Azure, including the Compute, Storage, Virtual Machines and Virtual Storage modules of the solution. Apart from this, Microsoft also got the Certification for the Management Portal and the information management systems that power Windows Azure. The BSI provided this certification last month (on November 29, 2011) and now Microsoft is also pursuing to get a similar certification for the remaining features of Windows Azure like its Service Bus, Access Control, Caching and Content Delivery Network. The Certification highlights Microsoft’s high drive towards quality and the stability of its Windows Azure offering. In addition, the Company’s Global Foundation Services also managed to get a separate ISO 27001 Certification for the Data Centers, which host the Windows Azure platform.

Aryaka Boasts of Great Progress of its Cloud-based WAN Optimization

Yesterday (on December 19, 2011), Aryaka, the world’s first provider of cloud-based WAN optimizations and application acceleration services, announced that 2011 had been a great year for the Company and it had not only built a stable and scalable solution, but also got a growing customer base for its secure global network solutions.
