Today (on May 10, 2012), Tata Communications, the India-based leading provider of Communication and Network services and Seaborn Networks, the developer and operator of the first submarine cable that connects the United States with Sao Paulo, Brazil, announced that Tata Communications had shown interest in becoming the anchor-tenant customer of its Seaborn Networks’ cable system.
If Tata Communications becomes the anchor-tenant of Seaborn Network’s cable system, its Seabras-1 connection will allow Tata Communications to connect Brazil with its global network connections in US, Europe, Asia and Africa. The expansion is aimed at Tata Communications’ getting better connectivity in the Latin America region, and since the Seabras-1 is the fastest link between Brazil and the US, becoming the anchor-tenant and getting a good share of the bandwidth and capacity of this cable provides a significant leap in expanding the Tata Global Network (TGN) further.
At its end, Seaborn Networks was happy to hear the intent of Tata Communications and mentioned that the Seabras-1 system will be ready for service from Q4, 2012.
