Limelight Networks, one of the leading providers of Content Delivery Network and website optimizing tools,
announced that Wayfair had selected its Limelight Accelerate to do Front-end optimization for its websites wayfair.com and allmodern.com to improve the performance and user quality-of-service for both the sites.
Wayfair has been selling furniture online since 2002 and with its 11 million pageviews per month, had a lot of customers browsing the website. Under such circumstances, having a lag in performance would reduce conversions and hence the profitability drastically. By working at presentation layer, Accelerate not only combines various instructions and sends them in one shot, but also prioritizes the content that would engage the customers more, thus improving their overall browsing experience.
Limelight mentioned that deploying the Accelerate solution helped the Wayfair Corporation by speeding up their website and reduced the time-to-action significantly. Wayfair also reported a 17% increase in page views after the optimization was done, and it was happy with the impact of the deployment.
