This Wednesday (on December 12, 2012), Level 3 Communications, one of the leading global providers of communications services and data center solutions, announced that four of its Latin America data centers: Buenos Aires, Argentina; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Santiago, Chile, have received the ISAE 3402 Type II Certification.

The ISAE stands for International Standard on Assurance Engagements, and this is a new standard defined by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) to evaluate the performance and operational efficiency of the data centers. Obtaining this certification allows Level 3 to provide a transparent view of Level 3’s financial processes and control to its customers as well as auditors. Apart from this, Level 3’s Buenos Aires’ data center also got the ISO 9001 certification for its adhering to stringent quality measures.

At its end, Level 3 mentioned that it was happy to get the various certifications for its data centers and stated that this also showed that the Company was comfortable to provide complete transparency of its operations to its customers and auditors.
